SCHOMBERG SOCCER CLUB BI-LAWS

 

SECTION 1

Player Registration

  1. A player's age is reckoned as of December 31st of the current year.
  2. A boy or girl may play in a division higher than his/her age group.
  3. Players must be registered with the O.S.A and District.
  4. Players in all competitions sanctioned or conducted by the S.S.C. must be registered on the official form of this league.
  5. Registration forms will be properly completed, including boys/girls names, with month, date and year of birth, phone numbers and parent or guardian's signature.

SECTION 2

Regulations Governing Players

  1. Smoking, swearing, drinking alcoholic beverages or conduct contrary to acceptable behavior will not be tolerated.
  2. Players shall be assigned a team sweater, shorts and socks for the season.
  3. The S.S.C. shall not be responsible for any lost articles.
  4. Players shall abide by the decisions of their respective coaches in regard to position assigned and are urged to co-operate fully to ensure maximum team effort.
  5. Players who refuse to abide by the regulations governing players, may be suspended by the team coach. Such players have the right to appeal such suspensions to the Executive.

SECTION 3

Regulations Governing Supervisory Personnel

  1. All coaches will have to undergo a background check before coaching.
  2. Coaches and managers shall be responsible for the conduct of their respective team while under their supervision.
  3. Managers shall report any shortages, or damages of equipment and uniforms to the Equipment Manager and shall be responsible for the return of same at the end of the season.
  4. Coaches and Managers should make every effort to further their knowledge of the game and develop coaching skills through reading, videos and coaching clinics.
  5. A team coach who suspends a player or who has a player sent off the field by a referee, shall submit a written report to the S.S.C. President within two days of the incident.
  6. Full Game suspensions by a coach must be approved by the Executive.
  7. Supervisory personnel should teach the "Player's Code" and be an example of it at all times.

SECTION 4

Game Rules

  1. The S.S.C. will adopt the game rules of any League and/or Association that we are affiliated with.
  2. Exhibition games must be sanctioned and scheduled by the S.S.C. President.

PLAYERS CODE

  • Be generous when you win and gracious when you lose.
  • Be fair always, no matter what the cost.
  • Obey the laws of the game.
  • Work for the good of your team.
  • Accept the officials decision with good grace.
  • B elieve in the honesty of your opponents.
  • C onduct yourself with honour and dignity.
  • Honestly and wholeheartedly applaud the efforts of your team mates and opponents.

COACHES CODE

  • · He or she should make every effort to exemplify the players code and the objectives of the S.S.C.
  • · The coach shall ensure that all players know and are reminded of the objectives and code.
  • · In particular the coach shall:
    1. Encourage team spirit , cooperation and mutual respect.
    2. Strongly discourage S.S.C. spectators or players from disputing any decision made by game officials during the game.
    3. All registered players except those on Select or Premier teams will receive equal play time. Select and Premier players playing time will be decided by coaching staff.
