The player must not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to himself or another player (including any kind of jewellery). Methods can be used to protect the player and others from potential harm if inspected and approved by the referee (eg.: an arm cast with a soft cover, tape over a medicalert bracelet or necklace, tape over a ring).
Prescription eyeglasses are permitted to be worn.
The basic compulsory equipment of a player is: a jersey, shorts, socks, shinguards (of a proper material) and soccer shoes (no metal cleats), no hard brim hats to be worn.
Each goalkeeper wears colours which distinguish them from the other players, the referee and the assistant referees.
Goalkeepers may wear gloves, kneepads, elbow pads and tracksuit-type pants.
If a player does not abide by this law they are required to leave the field of play (may be substituted) and will only be permitted to re-enter as a substitute after complying with the Law and receiving the referee's permission.
