LAW 7 - The Duration of the Match

Periods of Play

The match shall be divided into two equal halves. The duration of the match is to be as follows:

• Under 06 (Mixed)
  • 15 minute halves (for games played as part of a practice (King City))
  • 25 minute halves (for games played on a 'game night' (Schomberg))
• Under 08 (Boys/Girls) - 25 minute halves
• Under 10 (Boys/Girls) - 30 minute halves

Half-Time Interval

The interval between halves shall be no less than 5 minutes.

Some allowance for time lost during the game from items such as injury and wasting time may be made at the discretion of the referee.

Penalty Kick

If a penalty kick is to be taken or retaken at the end of a match, the playing time is extended until the penalty kick is completed.

Abandoned Match

A match is abandoned and replayed at a later date (if possible) if less than 75% of the match has been played. Once 75% of the match has been played the match will be recorded as completed.
